In January we ran the contest above causing a flurry of research into the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn which led to the Swift Shop theme for February featuring three independent publishers located in this historic district:

Being the new kid on the block in the independent bookstore world, we are eager to shed some light on the publishers who make it possible for us to offer a diverse catalog of world literature.

In addition to a selection from the publishers listed above, we have included books on the history, some notable residents, and fiction and non-fiction stories set in Brooklyn.
